LIU INSTITUTE PLEDGE
Martial Arts is not just a training of kicks or punches, but rather a training of character, tolerance, perseverance, self-control and self discipline...honor, integrity, respect and harmony with nature. Eloquent conviction, Shaolin is a way of life and philosophy. Without the very philosophy of it, it's not Shaolin anymore. The highest principles are the simplest philosophy of life . . . natural motion, doing without doing, Yin and Yang.

SHAOLIN STUDENT CREED:

1. I will strive to develop myself in positive Qi physically and mentally.

2. I will strive to follow the Shaolin and Taiji path, to be sincere, respectful and honorable; to strengthen my character, to improve my personal and spiritual growth.

3. I will strive to develop self-discipline, in order to bring out the best of myself and others.

4. I will strive to perfect my body and mind, and to use what I have learned constructively and defensively to help myself and others with integrity and never to be abusive or offensive.
